Jane Woodward Sampler - Week 4

Can't believe I've been working on this sampler for a whole month.  Doesn't seem like it!

Maybe because I have been doing other things?!

Love all the different motifs!  And stitching has been a breeze since I finished the Algerian Eye stitches.  I had to move my scroll rods twice since last week.

As you can see I made the turn to the bottom of the sampler border.  Think I'll switch over to the left side and work on the border, turn and motifs on that side.

Pulled out my serger, and prepared the edges of Loara Standish fabric.  While it was out fixed about 5 long sleeved t-shirts of my husbands.  He somehow manages to rip them out underneath the arms. All fixed!

I finished with the deep cleaning of the Jack and Jill bathroom and my daughter's bedroom, just in time for them to both come home this weekend and mess it up!  Well at least it will be easier to clean up this time.

The basement bathroom renovation still continues.  Right now I'm busy priming and painting all sorts of pieces of wood that will be necessary to finish it up.   My mother returns Oct. 8 from Illinois, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed hubby's gonna kick it into overdrive!

Maybe this week the dogs will get their baths and much needed haircut for Dixie.
Plus ear cleaning, nail cutting and other things that occur when dog grooming.

Not much else going on, but doesn't mean I'm not busy!  Try to keep myself busy, keeps the mind and body in shape!

So until next week!  Happy stitching!

Jane Woodward Sampler - Week 3

This has been just clicking along this week, considering how much time I didn't really stitch this week!

I finished the last Algerion Eye Stitch today, so the rest is all cross stitch.

There's another line of numbers, plus Jane's name.  Couple lines of a verse, then the motifs. Then I'm finished!

So I mentioned in previous  posts that my daughter is officially out on her own.  So I decided it was time to go in there and clean her room.  First to figure out the random stains on her carpet, so I could pretreat those, before cleaning the carpet.

I couldn't resist teasing my daughter a bit after ascertaining the carpet stains.  Told her I was getting her room ready for the boarder we were taking in. To ensure she couldn't come back!  She finally figured out I was joking.

It's amazing when you go in to clean a room. You start out with I'm just cleaning the carpet. The next thing you know, I'm up there with a bucket, a sponge, and spicy and span and wiping down the walls and woodwork.  Oh, and those blinds are sorta gross!  They need a bath. Now that I think about it, I don't think those curtains have been washed since we hung them up.

And the ceiling fan, probably need to take tge blades off and give them a coat is white spray paint.  Those glass globes?! I don't think they're gray.  Let's put them in the dishwasher!

Hopefully the next time my daughter comes home for a visit her room will be all sparkling clean.  But I still have to clean that Jack and Jill bathroom. Poor Holly and Dixie must wait another week for baths!

The downstairs bathroom project is at a stand still till the hubby gets in there to do his thing(s). He does plumbing and electrical.  I'm strictly painting and cleaning!  I finally got the mirror frame ordered and will have to paint that when it arrives.  But I'm sure it will be all finished before my mom returns from Illinois on Oct. 8!  Well I hope it is!

Well that's bout it for this week so I'm going to sign off and go back to stitching and off to bed early!  Happy stitching!

Jane Woodward - Week 2

Whoosh.  This week has flown right by, and I'm not sure what it is that I accomplished last week.

I did make some required trips to Petsmart, Michaels and A C Moore.  Plus I also put gas and air in my tires. But other than that I got nothing!

Of course, I Stitched!

And was able to move my scroll rods.

This is a very simple sampler as far as stitches. But the colors just make make me happy!

Sold a couple more things on FB. Plus several years ago, I got both CD's of the Sampler  and Antique Quarterly for Christmas.  Never really looked at them.  Decided to take a gander at the first CD, to see if there is anything I might like to stitch.  Especially since it wouldn't involve me buying another chart.

Well that led to me creating a spreadsheet of the sampler charts in each issue. Not sure what I'm going to do that info or how to make it useful for someone else. Or even if it would've useful to anyone else. Have to ponder on that a bit more.

The bathroom renovation has come to a complete halt.  Waiting for the hubby to sand two walls that needed to be fixed, due to the difference of the vanity we took out, and the new one we are putting in.

I did order a hand towel ring and an over the toilet wall storage cabinet.  Waiting to hear from a company that makes unfinished  frames for mirrors. We were able to selvidge the mirror that was in there.  I'll just paint it white, and have the hubby take it to this place to cut it down and put it in the frame.

Nothing much new to report. So until next week Happy Stitching.

Jane Woodward Sampler - Week 1

Happy Labor Day.  Guess the summer is officially over.

I started on the 2nd to last sampler chart I have in the 1980's.

Jane Woodward Sampler
Canterbury Designs
27 ct. Unbleached linen
DMC

Very simple sampler, but the colors just spoke to me.

I think it's appropriate that today I'm starting with painting the basement bathroom, since it's Labor Day. The sooner it's painted, the sooner the rest of the stuff goes back in or gets replaced!

New vanity and lights, new faucets. Plus the paint job to pick up towels and mats that I already have.  Plus the new shower curtain.

I am so happy to report my hubby fixed my table and I found this when I came downstairs.

Perfect!  Now just to finish the throw pillows I purchased fabric to make.

That's about all for this week!  Happy stitching!
