But the end is clearly in sight. I have less than an inch of fill in to do on the hull of the ship. Plus random fish motifs. Hoping there will not be a week 13 post but an interim "finish" post.
But...even with less than an inch to complete, that's a lot of fill in.
Today is the first day in a long time that it hasn't been raining here in Virginia. Along with the rain, it's been chilly. So I have still had the heater going in the basement to take out the dampness. Is summer ever coming?
I made a trek to In Stitches last week. Spent about an hour an a half converting DMC colors to hand dyed cottons. A act of love for my sister! Although I can feel it in my legs from doing forced squats looking at threads from floor level to above my head.
My sister gave me the DMC #'s. Between GAST and CCW, this is what I came up with.
What is it about hand dyed threads, that makes me want roll around in them? Or just frame them like that? I guess that's how knitters feel about yarn or quilters feel about fabric.
Nothing more to post for this week. Hoping my next week, I'll have pulled threads for a new project. Until then, happy stitching!

DeleteI feel the same way w/ overdyed threads . . . it's weird. Nice palette! You've made me giggle every time you've made a comment about how agonizing this current piece has been for you . . . It would've taken me a couple years to get that one done. Glad it's almost finished. (Your son better appreciate it, huh?) Did you suspect you'd despise it so much when you purchased it? ReplyDeleteThat what be a no! I thought I'd whip through this like the one I did for the other 3 kids. I don't recall any of theirs taking more than a month each. I will say the other 3 projects were smaller. My ADD won't let me start something else till I finish the one I'm working on. I'm am glad I started now since I'll have plenty of time to frame before Christmas. Agh the griping I'd be doing if I waited and then was up against a deadline of framing and Christmas! Last night I put pages 9 and 12 away as I am officially finished using them. That felt wonderful!
